Energy Audits and Surveys

ARK can assist your organisation by carrying out an audit of your premises or business processes to identify where energy savings can be made through a combination of equipment replacement, changes to operating practice and organisational training.

ARK has consultants who are accredited by the Carbon Trust to perform opportunities identification surveys. We may be able to obtain funding for these surveys at no cost to your organisation.

Renewable Energy Feasibility Studies

The choices for Renewable Energy can be bewildering.

ARK provides independent advice to both businesses and private individuals on which forms of renewable energy and which products will be most suitable for your particular needs.

We will even help you to determine what those needs are by surveying and computer modelling of your business or building.

Measurement and Verification Programmes

Once you've decided to fit renewables or want to "trial" an energy reduction initiative how do you know it really works?

We can design a full monitoring and verification programme to prove that the technology does what it claims. We work to the concepts and standards laid out in the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (www.ipmvp.org) to provide you with confidence.

Energy Statements / Part L Compliance checks

We can write energy statements for new build projects (including master plans) to support your planning application and to ensure that your scheme meets the local planning requirements. Our energy statements include predicted energy demand calculations, renewable energy strategy and will show the passive design measures that will minimise energy consumption of your building.

At all stages of a project we will ensure the building is compliant with the appropriate sections of Part L of the Building Regulations.

We are happy to provide an independent building fabric and services design review to ensure that the your building is as energy efficient as possible.

We are fully accredited to use the IES-Virtual Environment (Dynamic Simulation) and SBEM software tools.

Domestic Energy Performance Certificates

ARK is accredited by BRE Certification (Certificate number BREC200803) to carry out Domestic Energy Assessments and issue Energy Performance Certificates.

We accept requests from estate agents, solicitors and direct from home owners.

We offer this service within a 30 mile radius of Liss, Hampshire and cover most postcodes in the GU and PO regions.

Commercial Energy Performance Certificates

ARK is accredited by BRE Certification (Certificate number BREC200803) to issue commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) using SBEM and to issue Display Energy Certificates (DECs) as required by all public buildings.

BREEAM In Use

ARK is accredited by BRE Certification (Certificate number BAUD0222) to act as an Auditor for commercial organisations seeking accreditation for existing buildings and business practices under the BREEAM In Use scheme.

BREEAM In Use is a new scheme within the BREEAM family and provides a way of rating the sustainability of a building asset, the management of the asset or the organisation owning and operating the asset and allows existing buildings to obtain a BREEAM rating.

TCP/IP and Legacy Control Systems

ARK is the only company in the UK able to provide technical support for a number of legacy control systems, in particular the Weidmuller Modulink and WinBloc products, for which we hold some spares.

ARK uses commercial off-the-shelf components to provide custom programmed control solutions for Renewable Energy and Building Services applications. We also have experience of IEC61151-3 and Safety Control System programming.
